Navarre Souvenir Impérial Hors d'Age Grande Champagne Cognac

Smooth criminal
The sip was tasteful and full of body it was exceptionally robust. I didn’t think that Navarre Souvenir Impérial Hors d’Age Grande Champagne would be sold at the price of a beggar and be so good. Get this one just for the hell of it, you’ll see it was worth it ten folds.
Great cognac, multi-leveled with great finish
I just finished my second bottle of this and will be buying more since it's becoming one of my favorites. It has so many flavors going on I find it difficult to pick out one particular fruit or spice. It's very well balanced between fruit, spice, and some earthy tones. Very good lasting finish.
A great drink
I finally got around to opening and having a taste. WOW, this has the typical strong nose, with plenty of up-front burn, as it sits it opens up and settles down. There is a great mouth feel with more fruit and spice. It has a terrific finish that doesn't disappoint. This is going to be my go-to drink...
Superb Hors d´Age
The cognac shows a beautiful mature colour in the glass. Complex nose with ripe, exotic fruits, wood notes, fine rancio. On the palate juicy, ripe fruit, fine wood and beautiful integrated alcohol. The finish is medium to long with spicy accents - a really fine blend by Jacky Navarre - Chapeau!
Jacky Navarre, a magician among the Cognac producers, has stunned the region with his ability to create artisanal bottles such as the Navarre Souvenir Impérial Hors d’Age Grande Champagne Cognac.
It is fruity, multifaceted and complex from beginning to end. Aged for half a century, this Hors d’Age is an ‘Imperial’ example of Jacky’s ability to produce Cognac blends from the Grande Champagne. It has undergone a process unlike most: non-chill filtered, nor colored or boiséd with wooden chips. It is, just as it was meant to be - straight from the barrel.

Ragnaud Sabourin Reserve Spéciale Alliance 20
Tasting of a sample from this year´s Advent Calendar: Pale gold. Fine floral nose, blond tobacco, mild honey. Spicy and sweet on the palate, lacking some fruit and not really complex. Medium to long finish, ending on spices, honey and fine wood. Fine cognac for this price!
A bargain XO
The first thing that I notice in the glass is the natural color of this Cognac!! Nice floral notes lead off the nose, which is rather delicate and elegant. Not a big or robust nose. As it sits for several minutes, subtle fruit notes appear. It is surprisingly full-bodied in the mouth, starting...
A true bargain
Ragnaud Sabourin is famous for their quality cognac. This is in the middle of the range with 20 years of age. For me this is a good everyday cognac. It is very nice on the nose with rich floral tones. In mouth you can find quite a lot of spices. This also continues into the finish, and it lasts for...
Produced entirely from Grande Champagne Ugni Blanc grapes and matured for at least two decades, Ragnaud Sabourin Reserve Spéciale Alliance 20 Cognac is a Cognac of exceptional complexity and finesse. Like all Cognacs from this esteemed house, the grapes for this expression were harvested on the Domaine de la Voute vineyard, making it a single estate bottling. The number codes on the bottles point to the age of the liquid inside; hence, the ‘20’ used here indicates that the youngest eaux-de-vie in the blend has been aged for at least 20 years.

Le Maine Giraud XO Cognac
A 25-year-old Cognac, this XO blend represents the quintessence of Le Maine’s art. Its aromas behold those to be expected of a well-aged Fins Bois Cognac, revealing distinct woody notes of cedar and oak. Selected by the cellar master for their utmost finesse, the eaux-de-vie of this blend spent a staggering 25 years aging in oak casks, hence such a high-quality result.
Born from the unique idea of combining a love for Cognac with a unique architectural and literary heritage – Maison Maine Giraud is centred around innovation. In fact, each plot of the estate is unique to another, allowing for one-of-a-kind, refined blends that differ from the rest.

L'ESSENTIEL A45 Marancheville
This bottle of cognac starts off with plenty of oaky wood at the beginning, but later switches to a spicy flavor then to a fruity taste and then back to oaky wood and spice again. There is a certain freshness for cognac this old along with a dryness that I have only experienced in younger cognacs....
Freshness and maturity here are both impressive
A vatting of three small casks of 60l each, made out of old staves, so do not expect anything bombastically oaky as they do north of Hadrian's wall. The house usually sell their fillings to some large cognac house and only keep a tiny proportion for their own fillings. Let's see if we need to thank...
A careful cognac that requires time
This is a very interesting cognac, you need to spend time on. It is quite dark, at first a bit shy on the nose. After some time you will find tones of orange, some pastry and some wood. It is quite delicate in the mouth with both spices and fruit. The finish is also rich on spices. This is an interesting...
L'ESSENTIEL A45 Marancheville tasting
Nose: immediately sweet spices such as nutmeg, pan brioche or panettone (Italian Christmas cake, from the Lombardy region). It continues with citrus and exotic fruit, jam but also quince. Lastly, a slight hint of wood. Mouth: surprisingly very fresh but also dry, followed by savory and spicy despite...
Something special and to behold
Produced from three 60L Mini Casks (Just under 15 gallon), and aged for 45YR with no additives and non-chill filtered. Initially on the nose, I’m blown away by the youthfulness and freshness of the fruit given its age and the size of the casks!! A lovely fruit bowl of fresh oranges, peaches, with...
L'ESSENTIEL A45 Marancheville
Nose: The nose is a crystal clear and clean nose. It smells as only a mature Grande Champagne can smell. My nose picks up orange marmalade (confiture orange amère in French), stewed yellow peaches, slice of juicy ripe fresh mango - so a healthy does of fruit, but I struggle to determine if the fruit...
Growth Area: Grande Champagne
Cognac Age: 20 Years Old
ABV: 42.8 %
The second edition of L’ESSENTIEL Season 2 has arrived, this time in direct collaboration with Cognac Marancheville.
This wonderfully mature Cognac comes from vines situated in the heart of the Grande Champagne, notably the communes of Julliac-le-Coq and Marancheville. The terroir is textbook Grande Champagne terroir: Campanian chalk, a chalky limestone soil not unlike the soils found in the Champagne region’s Montagne de Reims and Côte des Blancs. But we’re not talking about bubbly Champagne here. This is Cognac.
