Symphonie - a great balance between different flavors
Nose: Orange, orange zest and peel, fine oak, something tart. There are also rose flavors and essential oil notes that I can't differentiate. With few drops of water a more distinguishable peach note emerges. A very good nose. Palate: Orange, a bit bitter, strong oak, sweet pastry, some tobacco...
Excellent 'wee dram'.
100% ugni blanc. It is said that the Godet house is the second oldest in all of Cognac, founded in 1588 in La Rochelle (rugby and sailing fans ahoy). They therefore surpass Bowmore, Glenturret, and Littlemill simultaneously in this regard. For a bit of trivia, the French word 'godet' can also be ...
Beautiful amber
Beautiful amber with copper and gold highlights. Old cigar boxes indeed, then deep floral accents, rancio with a hint of spices. Sweet and a little spicy quickly maturing to a full body taste despite physically seeming thin. Nice finish with the sweetness lingering.
Exotic Armagnac
Interesting nose with fruits (apricot, plumes and grapefruit) and flowers. A bit of caramel and exotic woods. Interseting, with some time in the glass a balsamic vinegar note appears along with exotic fruits vibe, tartness. This reminds of some 20+ year old Georgian brandies that I had. If I have...
Stellar Choice by Sophie & Max
Nose: Orange, Nutty, Vanilla, Floral (gentle rose touch is there), Fruit Basket Mouth: Darker than the nose with more nuts, spices, orange, dried fruits, chocolate, wood, and a bit of leather. A very good cognac that I enjoy drinking very much.
Outstanding Grande Champagne
Nose: Dried fruits, plums and peaches, rancio, delicate tobacco, polished leather, spices, menthol. Very balanced without aggressive or overpowering notes. Mouth: Menthol, Dark Chocolate, dried fruits, some vanilla. Very long aftertaste, a bit bitter with tobacco. This is a spectacular cognac,...
Coastal Excellence
Nose start with maritime flavors, coastal pine forest, salted caramel. There are citrus fruits, orange leading the way, and an interesting combination of herbs. With some time in the glass and a drop of water a deeper but persistent layer of flavors emerges: Dark honey (most likely pine honey), t...
Beautiful Expression
Nose: peach, salted caramelized fruits, a touch of woodiness, some roasted nuts and coastal feeling (but not as pronounced as the other N90 Oleron bottling, which even has a touch of iodine on the nose and more salinity) Mouth: Follow the notes from the nose + red apple and vanilla. There are de...
Fruity Cognac - Decent Quality
Nose: Dried apricots and peaches at the front, some vanilla and wood. Not overly complex, but delicate and elegant. The aromas are somehow muted. If you want something in your face this cognac is not for you. Palate: Again apricots and peaches, this time a bit sweeter with a touch of chocolate, ...
