The Raymond Ragnaud Hors d'Age Cognac is a delightful, excellent quality, old cognac created solely from eaux-de-vie from the premier growing region - Grande Champagne. After being allowed to age for an extended period of time in traditional old oak barrels, Raymond Ragnaud's Cellar Master took each component at its peak to create this wonderfully complex blend.
Slightly overproof at 43%, this is a cognac that will impress both the connoiseur and those who're only just starting their journey into the wonders of the cognac world. Presented in a traditional style cognac bottle - there's no pretentiousness with this offering: Raymond Ragnaud have simply let the cognac itself do the talking. And it certainly doesn't disappoint...
As one would expect of a cognac of this quality, it first delights on the eye with a deep, burnished gold color. It then continues to tantalize each and every one of the senses with complex aromas, delicate yet powerful on the palate with a delightful taste of rancio. And of course, a superb and lengthy aftertaste. There's nothing pretentious about this cognac - there doesn't have to be - it simply lives up to everything you'd expect of this quality of cognac. A true delight...
