VSOP Cognac du Frolet Quintard - 100% Petite Champagne
Aged far beyond the official requirement for a Very Superior Old Pale, the Cognac du Frolet VSOP is a beautiful example of the finesse that comes from the Petite Champagne growing area. A spicy Cognac with notes of dried fruits and almond, this is an exclusive VSOP aged between 7 and 12 years - the average for this age category is aged for at least 4 years.
Produced using entirely Ugni Blanc grapes, this Cognac has been grown optimally in clay-limestone, shallow subsoils. This environment is perfect for fine eaux-de-vie. Distilled over lees for some time, and then aged in Limousin oak barrels, it is then left to sleep in a humid cellar. The eaux-de-vie is reduced just once until 63% volume, and then time does the rest of the work.
The Quintard brothers are Thomas and Bastien, who have grown up with the spirit of the vine in their DNA. They are the fourth generation of landowners, and have created a brand that perfectly encapsulates what they are about. As independent Cognac makers since 2019, they are committed to growing vines in a way that respects the environment and the terroir.

Über Du Frolet Cognac
The origin of Cognac Du Frolet is very much a family tale, and is the brainchild of two brothers, Thomas and Bastien Quintard. As the fourth generation of landowners in the Petite Champagne terroir, they were very much born with knowledge of the vine in their DNA. The brothers created Du Frolet Cognac in tribute to the place where they grew up, and have been independent winemakers since 2018. All of their Cognacs come from the finest Petite Champagne clay-limestone soils on their estate in Chadenac, and the brothers are committed to growing vines that respect the environment and the terroir. With 45 hectares of vines, they currently produce a selection of Cognacs, alongside Pineaux and wines.
