G et C Raby Extra Cognac
Groeigebied (Cru) & bodem: Grande Champagne
Extra Honorable: G&C Raby Cognac Extra
A premium Cognac that demonstrates the legendary savoir-faire that comes from this estate, the G&C Raby Cognac Extra will become a treasured part of any drinks cabinet.
As an Extra blend of two Grande Champagne Cognacs, the youngest is 26 years of age, and the oldest from the year 1965. It has, therefore, been aged incredibly well in the estate’s historic cellars.
This Cognac is a fine example of the work undertaken by the grandfathers of the current producer, Cécile Raby many years ago. The Logis de la Brée estate has a somewhat legendary reputation. It was once home to a French knight, the Chevalier La Croix Maron. It was this very knight that began double distilling Cognac many years ago, establishing a highly respected method through the Charente region.
Sitting at the heart of the Grande Champagne, G&C Raby occupy one of the most enviable estates in the entire region. Now, Gérard and Cécile Raby carry on the traditions of the land as they store precious stocks of eaux-de-vie from the Premier Cru.
The Grande Champagne has millions of years of fossilization to thank for its unique soil composition. The high chalk content and rolling hills make it the perfect place for growing fine vines and even finer eaux-de-vie.
This will make an excellent digestif, to enjoy after dinner contemplatively. Savor it neat, in a balloon glass at room temperature.
Presentation of the bottle
