Appellation (Cru) & sol: Grande Champagne
Tesseron Royal Blend was originally commissioned by a royal family: a selection of extremely old Grande Champagne cognacs, chosen from the Tesseron family's private collection for their exceptional fruity and floral aromas. Today, the family has chosen to make a few available to the market.Royal Blend spends the early months in new Limousin oak casks before going on to complete its ageing in the « Tierçons », the oldest and most precious barrels used exclusively for its rarest cognacs. This extraordinary blend, aged for two generations, is bottled in hand-blown glass « Bonbonnes », created by a master glassblower and faithful replicas of the ones found in the family's treasured « Paradis » cellar.
À propos de Tesseron Cognac
Tesseron Cognac specializes in high-end Cognac, exclusively producing “XO and beyond” blends from their ancestral home in Chateauneuf-sur-Charente, which lies between Cognac and Angouleme. When founder Abel Tesseron, whose face features on the company’s logo, acquired the property in the late 19th century, he patiently conserved his stocks of eaux-de-vie in the 12th-century crypt located deep underneath the domain, selling his matured masterpieces to various larger Cognac houses. These reserved and rare stocks have become legendary amongst Cognac connoisseurs the world over. It was, however, only in 2003 that the fourth generation of Tesserons made the decision to release a range under their own name, armed with an unrivalled Cognac craftsmanship and fueled by the legacy left by their grandfather, the iconic brand Tesseron Cognac was born.
The Tesserons are also active in wine production, owning the esteemed Chateau Pontet-Canet, a Pauillac classified property producing Grand Cru Classé Bordeaux Wine.
