The Claude Thorin XO Grande Champagne is, as its name suggests, a premier cru blend aged for a minimum of 10 years. Created in a collaboration between father André and son Claude, the blend boasts a wonderful rancio bouquet, with distinct aromas of coffee, candied fruits, tobacco and spice. This exquisite XO has taken home many awards, including Gold Medals at the IWSC and the Paris Concours Générale Agricole.
The Thorin estate was founded in 1950 by André Thorin in the Grande Champagne region of Cognac. The 100-hectare domaine is now run by André's son Claude, the family's cellars store some extremely old eaux-de-vie, including Cognacs that have spent more than a century inside.
Slender and sleek, the Claude Thorin XO Grande Champagne bottle design is as luxurious as the Cognac it houses. A traditional cork stopper preserves the blend, while the family's coat of arms is embossed onto the glass. The classic and timeless design of this Cognac bottle means it would sit nicely alongside others in your collection.
This Cognac would be a wonderful digestif to serve to guests at your next dinner party. Its sweet and spicy accents would be a great addition to the evening following a cheese course.
Boasting 106 hectares of vineyards, the estate of Claude Thorin has expanded massively over the past couple of decades. Producing a wide range of cognacs along with Pineau des Charente and wine, the estate of Claude Thorin produces its cognacs on site right from the grape through to the finished bottle. The vines are all located in the Grande Champagne 1er Cru area, and the estate prides itself in producing cognac true to the traditional manner that has been used over the centuries.
