Description
A Vieille Réserve Cognac from the Premier Cru that is fresh and light
Vieille Réserve N°8 stands out with its impressive 47% alcohol content, yet it never exhibits any harshness despite its high proof. This exceptional quality is the result of an extended aging process in oak barrels, combined with slow evaporation and oxidation under ideal conditions. The creation of No 8 is built upon just four essential elements: the vine, the barrel, skilled craftsmanship, and time. On the palate, it unfolds as a powerful Cognac, emphasizing woody notes and tannins, which makes it especially beloved among Cognac connoisseurs. No 8 also proves to be an ideal companion for cigar aficionados, as its robust character gently complements the dense, intense smoke of a fine cigar. This pairing is designed to enliven the back of the palate, delivering a richly rewarding sensory experience by harmonizing the Cognac's aromas with the subtle nuances of cigar smoke.
The Vieille Reserve No 8 is at an ABV of 47° and a pure Grande Champagne A.E. Dor Cognac. This Cognac is kept in a wax-sealed demijohn until it is later bottled for sale. Despite its impressive age of half a century, the AE Dor Tres Vieille Grande Champagne Cognac maintains all of their power and personality. They are treated with great care and total finesse from distilling until they are matured. They deserve to be tasted and appreciated just as they have been grown and bottled.
This particular Vieille Réserve is grown in the noblest of Cognac terroirs, the Grande Champagne. The eaux-de-vie from this cru are revered for their fine quality and lengthy finish. A spicy and smooth Cognac that is delightfully fresh and light despite its age. It is beautifully balanced.
Its quantities are numbered, as with all of their highly-sought after Vieille Reserve editions.

Glow of pleasure
In the glass a deep mahogany with copper highlights and golden edges. The nose is complex, not subtle at all, but sophisticated nonetheless, tobacco, leather, dark fruits, wood. A quick alcohol bite that transforms into a glow of pleasure, a manifestation of maturity, rancio, a blend greater than...
