Description
Tesseron Lot 53 Cognac from the Grande Champagne
A blend of the most sublime eaux-de-vie of Grande Champagne Cognac, the Tesseron Lot No 53 XO Perfection is composed of grapes from two varieties: the Colombarde and Ugni Blanc to give it dimension and character. Aptly named, it errs on perfection due to the undeniable finesse. This is to be expected of such a high quality, Premier Cru Cognac. For a cognac of this caliber, it offers extremely good value for money. This is a wonderfully complex, yet refreshing Cognac with lots of critical acclaim across the board. As an Extra Old Cognac, the Tesseron Lot 53 XO has been aged for over two generations in Limousin oak barrels. The bouquet of figs, chocolate and plum is rich and decadent, and you’re bound to fall in love.
The savoir faire behind Cognac Tesseron
Four generations of savoir-faire have meant that the Tesseron estate in Châteauneuf-sur-Charente possess a truly fine Paradis cellar. They are one of the few Cognac houses that possess three grape varieties, giving them an edge over many producers. The maître de chai creates a unique blend from the different grapes; blending with such expertise to give Cognacs such as the Lot 53 XO their own unique personality.
How to enjoy the Tesseron Lot 53 Perfection XO Cognac
Enjoy this Cognac neat or on ice in a tulip glass for the ultimate degustation. The decanter is modern, with clean lines, an elegant stopper, and an eye-catchingly simplistic label. The cognac comes complete with a presentation box; perhaps an ideal choice of gift for a cognac connoisseur? Or maybe just a present for yourself.

Perfection
This is a legendary cognac from Tesseron. For many this is an even better buy than the older Lot 29. It is around 50 years old and contains cognac made from both ugni blanc and colombard. This cognac is at first a bit reserved on the nose. but it opens op after some time in the glass. Then it has...
Great cognac - Tesseron Lot N°53 XO Perfection
Complex, opulent nose on dried fruits, tobacco and fine oak. Great on the palate - in a H2H tasting with Lot N°29 more opulent, more oily in your mouth, more vibrant with dried fruits, spices and chocolate. The finish is medium to long (longer than Lot N°29) with great finesse on dried fruits,...
Opulence
This cognac presents a rich bouquet, layered and full of nuance. One needs to take time enjoying this nectar, sipping it slowly, appreciating its complexity. To sum it up in one word, this cognac is what a true cognac is supposed to be, a pure opulence. Bountiful floral notes are punctuated with...
Amazing and draws me in again and again.
Tesseron Perfection is….well Perfection! Sumptuous just in its appearance once it approaches the nose you can instantly detect a subdued wood and figs with a touch of tobacco. On the palette it’s silky and smooth with spices, fig again and tobacco. I love this cognac!
unexpectedly
I tried the tasting box with the 4 tesserons ( 90 / 76 / 53 / 29 ) and then had to buy a whole bottle. In comparison to the other 3 Tesserons, this one is really special and a kind different. Somehow it makes me think of sparkles, lightness, body. Long aftertaste. The 29 is smoother, but you...
About Tesseron Cognac
Tesseron Cognac specializes in high-end Cognac, exclusively producing “XO and beyond” blends from their ancestral home in Chateauneuf-sur-Charente, which lies between Cognac and Angouleme. When founder Abel Tesseron, whose face features on the company’s logo, acquired the property in the late 19th century, he patiently conserved his stocks of eaux-de-vie in the 12th-century crypt located deep underneath the domain, selling his matured masterpieces to various larger Cognac houses. These reserved and rare stocks have become legendary amongst Cognac connoisseurs the world over. It was, however, only in 2003 that the fourth generation of Tesserons made the decision to release a range under their own name, armed with an unrivalled Cognac craftsmanship and fueled by the legacy left by their grandfather, the iconic brand Tesseron Cognac was born.
The Tesserons are also active in wine production, owning the esteemed Chateau Pontet-Canet, a Pauillac classified property producing Grand Cru Classé Bordeaux Wine.
