Description
A Single Cask, Single Estate XO Cognac from Ambleville in the Premier Cru
Originating from a single vineyard located on a geological rift in the village of Ambleville, the Delamain Single Vineyard Collection Ambleville Old Cognac is something of a Premier Cru treasure. As an XO Cognac, it has been aged for a minimum of 10 years - but we suspect that Delamain ages their Cognacs for far longer.
It has spent many years aging in a single cask in the historic Delamain cellars, making it the truest expression of the Grande Champagne terroir.Delamain only produces Cognac with the finest eaux-de-vie from the Premier Cru, but this beauty is truly exceptional. The cask is a 350-liter old Limousin oak barrel, and was bottled in February 2017. The total yield of this Cognac was 324 bottles.
Dominique Touteau, the Maitre de Chai at Delamain expresses his delight that this Ambleville Old Cognac reflects so much of the terroir. Ambleville is located in the center of the cru, and this Cognac was produced by a well-respected family in the area.
Presentation
It has been produced with no added sugar, and no added coloring.
How to serve
Enjoy this Cognac neat, but also experiment over ice to explore the depths in flavor.
About Delamain Cognac
With an incredibly old family tradition, Delamain Cognac (et Cie) makes for an exciting Cognac house with roots dating back to the early 1600s! The family tree couldn't be more complicated, and yet the Delamain brand has managed to survive since its creation in 1762. This is a Cognac house that is unapologetic when it comes to quality, selecting only the very best from its suppliers in order to create its own exclusive Grande Champagne products. With the British aristocracy having influenced the Delamains for generations, their Cognacs such as Delamain Le Voyage, Tres Venerable, and the Grande Champagne Vesper - are authentically catered for blue blood!
