Description

AE Dor Rare Fine Champagne VSOP Cognac: Fine Champagne finesse, a celebration of Savoir-Faire

Many collectors are aware of AE Dor’s cultural standing in the world of Cognac, and their importance as a distiller in the Jarnac region of Grande Champagne. Established in 1858, the passion has been passed down through the family, earning them the nickname as the “Antiquaire du Cognac”.

The AE Dor Rare Fine Champagne VSOP Cognac is a celebration of not just AE Dor's craftsmanship, but equally of the marriage between the two premier crus, Petite and Grande Champagne, blended together into a blissful harmony of aromas, flavors and textures.

The company is renowned for its extremely wide range of vintages thanks to Amedée Eduard Dor’s hard work, hunting for the best and oldest Cognacs of the region throughout the late 1800s. The A.E Dor domain is most famous for its aging cellar, nicknamed “Le Paradis”, where some of its oldest Cognacs are stored in wax-sealed demijohns, a true paradise for any Cognac connoisseur. This family of master blenders is known for their unique collections, which include beautifully presented decanters and vintages as old as 1840!

The humid environment of AE Dor's "paradis" cellar offers a certain mellow quality to their products, meaning the Cognac's are delicate and understated, therefore particularly smooth and supple on the palate. This VSOP has spent a minimum of 8 years maturing in these legendary cellars, giving the Cognac a distinct oaky flavor.

The choice to leave this Cognac to mature 4 years longer than the legal requirement is testament to AE Dor's attention to detail and respect for their craft. Patience over profit play a key part in the brand's success, and results in rare and higher quality Cognacs that are enjoyed by connoisseurs the world over.

How to Enjoy:

This VSOP has wonderfully distinct and identifiable flavors of violet, oak, honey and walnut, you'll be able to savor each individual aroma by drinking it neat in a tulip glass. Its light flavors make it a wonderful digestif, perhaps paired with lavender or thyme-based citrus desert.

Presentation of the Bottle:

In true AE Dor fashion, the bottle is traditional, elegant and old-fashioned. The bottle's classic design of yesteryear is a true hallmark of the quality, hard work, heritage and passion that AE Dor incorporates into every Cognac they produce, with attention to detail being paid to every aspect, from blending to branding. The bottle also comes with a cream cardboard case with green details for storage or gifting purposes.
