Description
AE Dor Vieille Réserve No 10 Cognac
A.E Dor Vieille Reserve No 10 Cognac is a Grande Champagne treasure that has undergone an incredible aging process, in order to reveal its exceptional array of aromas and tasting notes. With distinct floral tones and a powerful bouquet, No 10 Cognac is a wonderfully long and well-balanced blend of eaux-de-vie that lingers blissfully on the palate. The fantastic flavors of this Cognac have come to life through a completely natural process, whereby the Cognac is put into demijohns once it has reached 41,5° as a result of natural evaporation. The demijohns are then left to age initially in dry cellars for a number of years and later in humid cellars, to finish the maturation process in a different atmosphere.
The Cognacs of the A.E Dor Hors d’Age collection are stored in the wax-sealed demijohns for decades, until the eaux-de-vie have reached their prime and are ready to be bottled. Despite their great age, A.E Dor’s Grande Champagne Vieille Réserve range have retained strong personality and Premier Cru characteristics due to the care and attention devoted by the Cellar-Master and team at Maison A.E Dor. A collection of Cognacs embodying luxury, elegance and utmost finesse. These exclusive qualities are rare to come by, and can only be guaranteed in Cognacs of the first class; Premier Cru.
Steeping in both history and savoir-faire which dates back all the way to 1858, the house of A.E Dor is a reputable Cognac brand offering Cognacs of exceptional quality. Timeless in style and flavor, A.E Dor Cognacs present an elegant brand image, which is reflective of the rich history and artisanal craftsmanship, that has been passed on through the family, generation after generation.
Presentation of the bottle
The bottle shape and design of the A.E Dor Hors d’Age collection is simple and elegant allowing the delightful Cognac inside to speak for itself. Nevertheless, the classic decanter design certainly draws the eye closer. The cream labelling and accompanying gift box contrast delicately against the shimmering golden hues of the Cognac it beholds. The added bronze detailings, finish off the decanter with an extra touch of luxury - one that is representative of the premier class terroir the Cognac derived from.
How to enjoy
Cognacs from A.E Dor’s Hors d’age range should be slowly savoured down to every last drop. Due to the lengthy maturation process, Vieille Reserve Cognacs are rich in both flavor and history. Sipping Vieille Réserve No 10 Cognac neat will allow the Cognacs story to be told. To alter the tasting experience very slightly, try adding a few cubes of ice and enjoy as the patchwork of unique aromas open up across the palate. Close your eyes and let this very old Cognac take you on an immersive experience, far beyond the realms of your average Cognac tasting. We recommend serving this Cognac from a tulip glass, as its narrow flute allows the aromas to develop unreservedly.

A true lengend
Early in my cognac tasting career AE Dor No 9, 10 and 11 were perceived to be among the best cognacs that you could get. Since then I have tasted a lot of cognacs, and AE Dor's position as the top brand has been challenged. This is a beautiful cognac, it is a bit reserved on the nose before it...
