Description
Prunier Mini Vintages - '72 - '92 - '94 - '95 Cognac
This selection of unblended single harvest Cognacs gives a taste of some of the more underrated terroirs of the region. Unlike larger Cognac houses, Maison Prunier do not grow their own grapes; they specialize in buying eaux-de-vie directly from growers and distillers. With this simple but stunning selection of cask-strength Cognacs, we can catch a glimpse of harvests gone by - starting with 1972, followed by three vintages from the 90s. It’s rare to be able to access such a range of quality vintages, so grab this limited edition while you can.
1972 Petite Champagne - 42.9% - Dense rancio attack, with undergrowth, wax, dark chocolate, toffee, candied orange and honey. Notes of old oak on the finish.
1992 Fins Bois - 54.8% - Aromas of acacia flowers, licorice and orange provide a natural sweetness, while flavors of black tea give a soft tannic touch.
1994 Borderies - 58.3% - Rich and delicate. Very fine violet florals with notes of grapefruit, beautiful expressions of nutmeg and cinnamon combined with fine tannins of toasted wood.
1995 Fins Bois - 51.5% - Rather dense, with a present rancio and tobacco character. The waxy mouthfeel is emphasized by spices (nutmeg, pepper). Masculine in structure.
For over 250 years, Maison Prunier have been creating unique expressions by carefully putting each product under the magnifying glass. Spanning over eleven generations, Prunier stands as one of the oldest Cognac houses in the prestigious Cognac region and has learnt how to keep its own history alive together with its identity and esteem for its products. Without forgetting the past the house of Prunier continues without respite in striving to offer the best quality products. Through their passion for the craft, each member of the family has maintained the motto: quality and respect of local traditions. Contained inside each and every bottle rests the history and hard-work of the house’s family heritage.
