Description

Distillerie Garnier Pommeau Cask Finish Calvados

Introducing the Garnier Pommeau Cask Finish Calvados, a unique and exquisite spirit that is perfect for the most discerning palates. Crafted by the Garnier family, who have been distilling apple spirits since 1877, this Calvados showcases their expertise and passion for creating the finest apple spirits.

This Pommeau Cask Finish Calvados is made from 100% apples - 30 varieties of bitter and bittersweet apples - that are meticulously sorted and processed by hand. A natural fermentation process lasting a few months precedes distillation in the distillery's copper column still, which has been in use since 1923. The apple spirit is then aged in French oak barrels, followed by a finish in the domaine's pommeau cask, which imbues the spirit with a rich texture and soft sweet honey notes.

The result is a Calvados that is bottled at 46% alcohol, providing the spirit with extra spine and structure to complement the increased texture and honeyed sweetness. This spirit is best enjoyed neat, allowing you to savor its unique aroma and flavor profile. But, mixologists can also get creative and use this Calvados to make some truly amazing cocktails.

Whether you are an experienced Calvados connoisseur or just starting to explore the world of apple French spirits, you can appreciate the beautiful complexity and balance of this Pommeau Cask Finish Calvados. And, as with all Garnier spirits, the unmistakable imprint of the apple in all its purity is front and center.
