Color: Amber color, interlaced with shades of gold.

Nose: A very mature bouquet, where the richness of toffee and the warmth of wood spice mingle with the sweetness of candied fruits. This aromatic profile suggests a cognac of considerable depth and sophistication.

Palate: Exceptionally mellow and rich, delivering a thick and fruity mouthfeel that wraps the senses in a soft, velvety embrace. Slightly tannic, it unveils flavors of vanilla that blend harmoniously with dense notes of orange, apricot, and nutmeg.

Finish: Long and soft, gently tapering off with delicate aromas of French pastry and toffee, while a light, typical rancio note lingers.

Description

Ragnaud Sabourin XO Alliance 25 Cognac

Ragnaud Sabourin XO Alliance 25 is a Premier Cru Cognac primarily made with Ugni Blanc grapes, accompanied by a very low percentage of Folle Blanche grapes. This is an XO Cognac that has by far exceeded its minimum age requirement with an astounding 25 years in oak barrels. The grapes for this expression were harvested on the Domaine de la Voute vineyard, making it a single estate bottling.

The Ragnaud-Sabourin estate was founded in 1850 by Gaston Briand and his son-in-law Marcel Ragnaud. Today, Annie Ragnaud-Sabourin and her son Olivier carry on the family expertise, focusing exclusively on eaux-de-vie produced from their own vines. Sitting on a hill outside the village of Ambleville in the south of Grande Champagne, this wonderful estate may be small, but it is also one of the most prominent houses in Cognac, selling fine eaux-de-vie to a range of larger companies. However, they always make sure to keep the majority for themselves, which is why the House of Ragnaud-Sabourin boasts unusually large stocks of old Cognac - some of which predate the phylloxera epidemic. As a result, they are able to offer a wide selection of high-end releases.

Few houses dedicate themselves to such a long-term view on their production, but the Ragnaud-Sabourin family know how to plan ahead. The present stocks kept in their cellars represent around fifteen years of future sales - a long-term investment, but always worth the wait.

Presentation of the Bottle

With such a bold appearance, you can’t help but notice this expression. The decanter features a square shape and heavy base that gives great weight. The shimmering silver of the lettering on the glass perfectly match the metal stopper as well as the stunning gift box.

How to Enjoy Ragnaud Sabourin XO Alliance 25 Cognac

Take the time to leave this Cognac to rest in your glass before tasting it, and prepare yourself for the moment when you take the first sip. For the best tasting experience, serve at room temperature, or slightly chilled, in a tulip glass.
