Description
Pitaud XO Cognac
This well-aged Cognac is a blend of old, fine, rich eaux-de-vie with delicate aromas and a soft touch. Pitaud XO Cognac has been aged for around 30 years in the cellars at Maison Pitaud, significantly longer than the legal requirements for an XO quality Cognac. The result is an expression showing some exceptional qualities of roundness, richness and great finesse.
Born in 1882, Albert Pitaud was the owner of La Garnerie, an estate and Cognac house in the Petite Champagne region. Here, he lovingly created eaux-de-vie of renowned quality until World War One, when he was called into military service for his country. He decided to hide away his casks while he was absent, and returned to find them still in place. These casks remained part of his collection, and when Albert passed away in 1968 he passed on his legacy, including Cognac dating back to 1914.
Today, Pitaud Cognac is renowned for producing exceptional cognacs ranging from VS upwards. Each Cognac created by the House of Pitaud has at least one symbolical drop of what is known as ‘Cognac Albert Pitaud,’ the house’s premier product dating from around 1914, which makes it over 100 years old. Sought out by both amateurs and connoisseurs throughout the world, Cognac Pitaud is particularly well known in Germany, USA, Russia, China and Italy. Whilst their traditions and Cognacs remain faithful to tradition, the company itself is forward-thinking and embraces the very latest in modern technology.
Presentation of the Bottle
This XO Cognac is presented in a classic decanter, featuring a wide profile with an oversized gold stopper and gold label. It is accompanied by a case that faithfully reproduces the Albert Pitaud military booklet.
How to Best Enjoy Pitaud XO Cognac
Pour gently into a tulip glass and let it rest for 30 seconds before taking a sip. To allow the aromas to open up further, a small dash of mineral water could be added.
