Eye: Golden amber.

Nose: Somewhat tropical, but still with a fresh character. Nutty, woody scents blend seamlessly with sweet pastries.

Palate: Immediately showing its power, marked by coconut and vanilla. Hints of cocoa and some dried fruits lead to a soft finish with great length.

Description

Le Plantis des Vallees XO Arthur Cognac

Le Plantis des Vallees XO Arthur Cognac is an XO-grade Cognac sourced from the Fins Bois terroir. Crafted entirely from Ugni Blanc grapes, it has been aged for over 20 years, significantly longer than that which is required by law for a Cognac of this classification. It’s been bottled at 45% ABV, ensuring a great tasting experience and powerful aromas. This very Cognac has been crafted by the seventh generation of distillers at the estate, Antoine Queron, who has learnt everything he knows from his father.

The soil of the surprisingly large Fins Bois growing area contains patches of chalk that are less porous than the soil in other crus, producing full-bodied, supple and fruity eaux-de-vie with a distinct fresh character. In 2015 the family was awarded the Organic Farming label for all their Charentais wine; the switch was a crucial part of maintaining their rich wine quality. This is a mature expression that delivers some delicious tropical notes and vanilla sweetness, both signs of a well-aged Cognac. Certainly, a great bottle for any connoisseur to enjoy and share with others.

Presentation of the Bottle

Shown in an eye-pleasing decanter with a wide profile, square shoulders and a royal blue label decorated with gold lettering. The weighty gold stopper lends an extra touch of luxury to the package.

How to Enjoy Le Plantis des Vallees XO Arthur Cognac

This well-aged Fins Bois Cognac is one for the tulip glass. During the summer months, it might be suitable to add a cube of ice. For the ultimate tasting experience, pair with a hot espresso or a cigar.
