Hennessy XO Case Experience 2020 Cognac: a New Look for a Classic Expression
Originally created by Maurice Hennessy in 1870 for his circle of friends, the Hennessy XO Case Experience 2020 Cognac has received a makeover to flawlessly combine the traditional with the modern. As always, the Hennessy XO style - bold and rich, with serious complexity - feels as unique as it did in the 19th Century when it was first introduced. Labelled as an Extra Old blend, it comprises some 100 eaux-de-vie from various Cognac regions, each aged for a minimum of 12 years. The average age is said to be around 45 years old, making it an exceptionally fine-tuned selection that is perfect for sharing with friends. The House of Hennessy values the importance of using mature Cognacs in their blends; in fact, it was Maurice himself who first coined the term ‘XO’.
The House of Hennessy specializes in distilling their eaux-de-vie without the lees for a smooth, clean palate and utilize humid cellars for a steady maturation. Combined with the qualities of extended maturation, the result here is a Cognac bursting with candied fruit notes and a sumptuous hint of cocoa that lingers on the palate.
