Growth area & soil: Petite Champagne
Conte et Filles 10 Ans Cognac
Cognac 10 years old Petite Champagne selected its eau-de-vie from a plot in Nonaville on the southern limestone hillside renowned for its chalky soils and perfect conditions for growing high-quality grapes to be used in Cognac production. Made with Ugni-blanc grapes (the most commonly used in Cognac), the eau-de-vie was then aged in French oak barrels for a staggering 10 years after distillation - making it XO in quality. It presents as a well-refined Cognac of excellent quality and unrivalled finesse.
Standing proud as a female-led Cognac brand in an industry that is predominantly fronted by men, Maison Conte et Filles is now in its 5th generation of family members to inherit the Cognac making savoir-faire. Sisters Blandine and Anne-Laure present their passion for the world of agriculture through a new range of Cognacs alongside other grape-based wines and spirits.
Presentation of the bottle
Dressed in a simple cylinder style decanter with a wide cork stopper, it’s the label work of this bottle design that makes it stand out from the rest. On the label, a green illustration reflects back to nature and the roots of how this Cognac came to be. It serves as a delightful gift – and one that is easy on the senses, from the eye to your fingertips as they hold the smooth bottle in hand, through to the nose and then the palate as you embark on the tasting journey.
How to enjoy
Enjoy this 10-year-old Petite Champagne offering neat - at room temperature. Take the time to appreciate its blissful aromas as they evolve and develop in harmony. To take the tasting to another dimension, pair it with a fine cigar of your choice. The smoked notes of leather and wood accompany the taste of a cigar perfectly.
