Innovation and Excellence, taste Master Distiller Jean-Yves Landier’s last creation with Remi Landier VSOP Special Pale Cognac
Never one to settle for standard or second-best, the Remi Landier VSOP Special Pale Cognac has exceeded its "Special" label after taking home Innovation of the Year at the 2014 Cocktail Spirits Awards. Thanks to a unique filtration process that takes place at room temperature, the master blenders at Landier have managed to preserve the distinct, singular character of the Fins Bois terroir, allowing Cognac connoisseurs the world over to enjoy the unique qualities this cru has to offer.
Now commonly practiced by other major Cognac houses, this innovative technique allows consumers to discover new facets of Cognac and experience the individual qualities of a particular terroir or grape variety. This particular blend was the last to be distilled by Jean-Yves Landier, master distiller and founder of the house, who has since passed the torch onto his daughter Geraldine, now cellar master of the esteemed estate.
The cognac itself is neither chill filtered nor colored, meaning no added sugar or artificial colors, as a result, the Fins Bois region’s expression is left natural and untouched to reach full fruition, resulting in a dense and aromatic blend of ripe grapes with vanilla and exotic fruits. It is both subtle and distinct, refined yet complex, powerful and balanced in a unique and classically "Landier" way. The creation is luxuriously natural and refreshing with a lively and original flavor profile.

How to Enjoy:
The experts at Remi Landier state this Cognac can be enjoyed neat or in cocktails, where its flavor won’t get lost but instead, with the right ingredients, enhanced.
Why not balance the delicately fruity notes of this Cognac with some Champagne in "The Ambrosia" cocktail?
- Dash of fresh lemon juice
- Dash of triple sec (we like Cointreau)
- 3⁄4 oz Remi Landier VSOP Special Pale Cognac
- 3⁄4 oz Calvados
- 3 to 5 oz of chilled champagne
- Apple to garnish.
- Shake all ingredients (except the champagne) vigorously with ice, before straining into a chilled champagne flute and gradually adding the champagne.
- Slice your apple thinly and place a few on a cocktail stick in a fan shape to add an elegant garnish to this classy cocktail.
