Description
Forgeron Barrique 95 Cognac - aged between 20-30 years
The Michel Forgeron Barrique 95 Cognac is from one of the eponymous Barrique Collection, made entirely with Ugni Blanc white grapes. Translating to 'barrel', the Barrique signifies that this Cognac goes through a delicate and long maturation process.
Aged between 20 to 30 years in French oak barrels, it is a Vintage Cognac of great power. It has been patiently reduced with distilled water until it reaches 47% ABV, a slightly higher proof that gives power in the mouth yet still preserves taste and aroma.
The Cognac, like all others from Michel Forgeron, comes from the Grande Champagne terroir - otherwise known as the most prestigious terrain of the Cognac production area.
The uniqueness of Michel Forgeron Cognac lies in its very special history, its environmental concern and of course in its quest for quality. With a relatively young history, the first cognac under the brand Michel Forgeron was produced in 1977. Their philosophy remains the same as his grandfather’s, who bought the agricultural property at the turn of the century: work better, produce better.
Recently, for its hundred year anniversary, Forgeron covered one of the estate’s roofs with solar panels in order to work with sustainable energies for the cognac production.
Serving suggestions
To enjoy this Cognac we suggest that serve it at room temperature or slightly cooler, preferably in a tulip glass.
Presentation of The Decanter
An authentic 'tasting bottle', it is corked at 50cl and arrives in a gorgeous cream presentation box.
