Description
An exclusive blend from the prestigious Grande Champagne terroir
The Michel Forgeron 'Barrique 93' Cognac is a prestigious Cognac that comes from the sought-after Grande Champagne. Translating into 'barrels', the 'barrique' indicates that it has gone through a very delicate and special maturation process.
The Cognac Barrique 93 has been aged for 25 years in French oak casks stored in the cellars of Domaine Michel Forgeron, and it has been patiently reduced with distilled water until it reaches 47 degrees in alcohol content. This is a good compromise between preserving taste and aroma, while maintaining a certain power on the palate.
This Cognac, like all others from Michel Forgeron, comes from a growth area that is well known for producing the finest in eaux-de-vie. This is due to the high chalk content of the soil, which is particularly great for producing fine, floral and elegant Cognacs.
Michel Forgeron Cognac’s uniqueness lies in its very special history, its environmental concern and of course in its quest for quality. With a relatively young history, the first Cognac under the brand Michel Forgeron was produced in 1977. Their philosophy remains the same as his grandfather’s, who bought the agricultural property at the turn of the century: work better, produce better.
Recently, for its hundred year anniversary, Forgeron covered one of the estate’s roofs with solar panels in order to work with sustainable energies for Cognac production.
Serving suggestions
To enjoy this Cognac, we suggest that you serve it at room temperature or slightly cooler, preferably in a tulip glass.
Presentation of the decanter
Comes in a nice, sleek 'tasting style' bottle that is authentic and really quite stylish. Closed with a cork, it also comes with a cream presentation sleeve.
