Description
Hine Millesime 1987 Early Landed Cognac
Hine Millesime 1987 Early Landed is a delightful Cognac that has undergone a unique maturation process far from the Cognac cellars of France. The House of Hine’s “Early Landed Vintage Collection” approaches Cognac with the unique approach of choosing to age the casks in the United Kingdom. Sending the eaux-de-vie in casks to the United Kingdom allows the Cognac to mature in very different temperatures and humidity conditions to the cellars in Cognac. The twenty year, cross-channel process allows the eaux-de-vie to develop delicate and mellow aromas of candied orange. The result is a sublime vintage Cognac infused with a distinct set of flavors, that differs drastically to the same vintage expressions that have matured in Cognac.
The House of Hine draws its identity from the heart of two Premier Crus, the Grande Champagne and the Petite Champagne. Single vintages have been a signature of the House of Hine for decades. Each vintage is a liquid snapshot that captures the essence of a particular year, echoing the elaboration of fine wines and Champagnes. Matching such high standards is only possible in years when nature provides optimal conditions for the growth of exceptional quality vines of which the best grapes can be selected from.
From vintage blends, to the single plot offerings, Cognac produced by Hine share the same attributes of delicacy, vivacity and finesse.
Presentation of the bottle
Slender and sleek, the Hine Millésime 1987 Early Landed Cognac’s bottle design is as luxurious as the Cognac it houses. Its beautifully shiny bronze colouring embodies the supple flavourings and exceptional quality that is contained inside the bottle. The classic and timeless design of the decanter means it would sit nicely alongside others in your collection. Arriving with a bespoke wooden frame to protect the bottle, it is the perfect present for a Cognac connoisseur.
How to enjoy
Having found its alcohol content naturally over time, this vintage Cognac contains unparalleled elegance and infinite depth that should be enjoyed one sip at a time. Drink neat from a tulip glass, as the narrow top of this type of glass will delicately distribute the arrival of aromas during the tasting.
About Hine Cognac
Located in the heart of the Grande Champagne, the premium wine growing area of the Cognac region, the house of Hine has been producing some of the most exquisite Cognacs for six generations, when it was better known as T Hine & Co Cognac. The estate boasts an exceptional 173 acres of vineyards, and the house has a very special tradition of producing relatively small quantities - but with a very high standard in quality. One of their trademarks is to store their vintage casks in damp cellars in Bristol, England. This way, the Thomas Hine Cognac goes through a uniquely different ageing process due to the humidity of the seaside town, which differs somewhat to that of the southwestern coast of France. These highly priced vintage bottles are called “Hine Early-Landed Vintage Cognac”.
