Eye: Amber with copper highlights.

Nose: Quite powerful initially, with distinct wildflower and grapevine aromas. Fresh fruits - green grapes, mirabelle plums and some peaches - join in for a bright impression.

Palate: The delicate scents carry through in the mouth with a good persistence. Lively Fins Bois characteristics supported by a hint of oak. Lengthy finish marked by more florals.

Description

Le Plantis des Vallees Reserve d'Antoine Cognac

Le Plantis des Vallees Reserve d'Antoine Cognac is a Napoleon-grade Cognac sourced from the Fins Bois terroir. Crafted from Ugni Blanc grapes, it has been aged for a minimum of 15 years and bottled slightly over-proof at 43%.

The soil of the surprisingly large Fins Bois growing area contains patches of chalk that are less porous than that which is found in other crus, producing full-bodied, supple and fruity eaux-de-vie that often display a fresh character. This is a lovely quality expression with subtle floral notes, offering a delicate aftertaste with great length on the palate as you’d expect from a Cognac of this age. The house of Le Plantis des Vallees recommends this as being a great option for those who are beginning their journey into the knowledge of Cognac!

Presentation of the Bottle

Shown in a delightful bottle with clean, contemporary lines and a classic label, this is a Cognac that you can be proud to have out on display. The natural wood stopper is sealed with a wire cage for a vintage touch.

How to Enjoy Le Plantis des Vallees Reserve d'Antoine Cognac

Enjoy at room temperature or slightly chilled. Pour into a slim tulip glass and let the liquid rest for a minute before imbibing; this will allow the aromas to develop fully, for the perfect drinking experience. If you prefer your drinks cold, a piece of ice could be added as well.

Let the Angels Take Their Share
On the face of it, Cognac as a spirit is actually quite simple. A producer grows grapes (mainly ugni blanc), makes a white wine, distills it twice, stores the distillate in new or used oak barrels,...
