Meukow Vanilla Liqueur Cognac - Sip, Mix and Enjoy
The award-winning Meukow Vanilla Cognac Liqueur has been crafted from a blend of eaux-de-vie, combined with vanilla extracts to provide the drinker with a powerful liqueur that balances fresh floral notes with fruits and sumptuous vanilla. In order to always meet the high level of standard expected of Meukow Cognac, only the heart of the distillate is used for their eaux-de-vie. What follows is an aging process of at least two years in Limousin oak, lending rich woody flavors to the final product. The combination of rich Cognac and sweetness makes this liqueur a must-have in any drinks cabinet.
The history of Meukow dates back to the mid-19th Century, when brothers Gustav and August-Christophe Meukow from Silesia were sent to France in order to procure Cognac for the Russian Tsar Alexander II. After years of searching for the finest eaux-de-vie, they eventually decided to set up their own distillery in 1862. At first, their only customer was the Tsar himself, but the two brothers soon began to make Cognac of considerable quality, winning over the hearts of people around the world.
Today, Meukow Cognac is available in over 80 countries. Cellar Master Anne Sarteaux has been with Meukow since 2007, preserving the traditional expertise that has been passed down from generation to generation. The signature panther motif has adorned Meukow Cognac bottles since 1995 and thus become their unmistakable trademark. For this reason, it’s often referred to as the ‘jaguar spirit’.

How to Enjoy Meukow Vanilla Liqueur
While this is a great liqueur to drink over ice in a tumbler glass, its distinct flavor also makes it the perfect ingredient for an Alexander à la Vanille:
- 30ml Meukow VS Cognac
- 20ml Meukow Vanilla Liqueur
- 10ml Crème de Cacao
- 2 dashes Cacao Bitters (optional)
- 25ml Cream (or vegan substitute)
- Grated nutmeg to garnish
Combine all liquid ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice and shake hard for 30 seconds until ice cold. Double strain into a chilled coupette or martini glass and grate nutmeg on top.
Best Cognac, but new bottles differences from old?
I have 1 bottle from 2004 and have been looking for this brand ever since, and was very exited when i found it here, though i have to say the 2 new bottles that i bought didn't taste as much vanilla as the old one, more taste of liquor in the new ones as well, so if you as me have an old bottle compare...
