Maison Coquard-Thomas XO Cognac: Perfect Maturity and Balance
This XO is a 10 years old blend. The Maison Coquard-Thomas XO Cognac has a round and supple character, thanks to the extended oak maturation and balance of raw materials: the grapes used for this blend are a combination of Ugni Blanc and Folle Blanche varieties, lending a wonderful complexity and elegance to the final product. Harvested from one estate, the grapes have been cultivated on hillsides characterized by chalky, limestone-rich soil - virtually identical to the geological composition of some of the most famous Fine Champagne estates. Traditionally double distilled and matured only in French oak barrels, this is a classic, rich XO that doesn’t hold back when it comes to flavor.
Maison Coquart-Thomas is the crowdfunded brainchild of Claire Coquard-Thomas, who after spending her career working in the wine trade decided to branch out into spirits. In Claire’s own words: “Cognac is a contemporary drink and I decided it was the right time for me to do something different and face new challenges. I was born in Beaujolais, I married a Charentais, I have been working for almost 20 years on the international stage and it was time to create and launch this Cognac brand... A great discovery, a local product, easy to share with friends and family, and a great base for wonderful cocktails!”

This is a Cognac to savor slowly. Enjoy it neat, perhaps warmed in your hand on a cold winter’s night - or, on a warmer day, why not drop in some ice for a subtly different tasting experience. We think Maison Coquard-Thomas XO is particularly suited for after dinner and late evening enjoyment; serve in tulip glasses and allow the spirit to sit for about 30 seconds before taking a sip.
