Eye: Yellow ambered gold.

Nose: Floral notes of carnation, jasmine and narcissus melt into honey, nuts, candied orange, grilled coffee and oak, and a light rancio.

Palate: The flexibility is apparent, with a striking roundness and aromatic richness. The length in the mouth is neverending, and the aroma of Agen prune comes to the fore.

Description

The Award-Winning G&C Raby Cognac XO

Having spent up to four long decades in the historic cellars of the Logis de la Brée, the G&C Raby XO Cognac is something really quite special. Crafted from grapes grown exclusively in the Grande Champagne, this XO has been aged for at least 10 years in oak barrels, and expertly blended with other Cognacs up to 40 years old.

It has also caught the attention of critics at various awards ceremonies for its round body and exceptional finesse. This Cognac can be fully enjoyed as an after dinner treat, and is crafted at the home of a former knight.

Sitting at the heart of the Grande Champagne, G&C Raby occupy one of the most enviable estates in the entire region. Not only are their Cognacs of a prestigious quality, but their estate is where the traditional method of double distillation all began.

It was ‘La Croix Maron’, a famous French knight who began distilling in the ‘Charentais’ way many years ago. Now, Gérard and Cécile Raby carry on the traditions of the land as they store precious stocks of eaux-de-vie from the Premier Cru.

The Grande Champagne has millions of years of fossilization to thank for its unique soil composition. The high chalk content and rolling hills make it the perfect place for growing fine vines and even finer eaux-de-vie.

The result is round, persistent Cognacs such as this fine XO.
