Dumay Rare VSOP Winter Limited Edition Cognac
Made entirely from Ugni Blanc grapes, this rare VSOP cognac blend was aged for five to eight years in oak barrels. Dumay’s cellar master selected eaux-de-vie from the two premier crus of Grande and Petite Champagne where the thick layer of limestone in the soil gives a roughness and a fresh and fruity element to the grapes.
The Dumay House bases its cognacs on meticulous, age-old distillation methods. All of its artisan cognacs are produced using natural and locally sourced ingredients, French casks and pure rock-filtered water. An in-house geologist analyses every vineyard that grapes are selected from, allowing the team at Dumay to perfectly understand each parcel of land and compose the perfect craft.
Felix Dumay, the godfather of the Dumay House, was born at the distillery and learned how to produce Cognac as a young man. He later become a marine surgeon and sailed the world in the 1800’s - always carrying a cask of his family cognac with him to share with those he met and appreciated. During his trips he studied books on botanics and geology, leading him to rethink the way the perfect cognac should be composed. The Dumay brand today is inspired by his notion of sharing, a search for pleasure and the desire to bring Cognac back on stage as one of the world’s most authentic spirits.
