A single estate Leyrat Cognac from the Fins Bois
The Chez Milliard estate, situated in the Fins Bois, has developed quite a reputation for producing standalone single estate Cognacs of superior quality. This one is the Leyrat Assemblage No.1, that has come about as a result of a rigorous selection process of eaux-de-vie.
A great Cognac for bartenders, it is easy drinking and has notes of brown sugar, marzipan, orange peel spice and summer fruits.
What makes this estate so special? The 90 hectares of vineyards are primely located on top of a hill, with an optimum limestone subsoil that creates a unique type of eaux-de-vie that are simultaneously fine and elegant. Founded by the Domaine Francis Abecassis, they are best known for their single estate Cognacs.
How to serve
Leyrat suggest one of their bespoke cocktails created by Mauro Colombo from Barrier Cocktail Bar in Bergamo, Italy. The recipe is as follows:
- 30ML Cognac Leyrat Assemblage N° 1
- 30 ML Pig’s Noise Scotch Whisky
- 5 ML Dom Benedictine 2 Dash Peychaud’s bitter
- 2 Dash bitter Angostura
- Citrus Zest
- Stir & Strain
- Ice Cube

About Leyrat Cognac
Cognac Leyrat is part of the 250 hectare estate owned by Francis and Elodie Abecassis. They also own the brands Cognac Le Reviseur and Cognac ABK6. As with the rest of the company’s range, Cognac Leyrat is produced from the fruits of a single estate. These eaux-de-vie are then aged and blended into a full range of cognacs, from a VS right through to their flagship product Leyrat Glory, which is a minimum of 40 years of age.
