Description
Pure Premier Cru Elegance by Hine
This Grande Champagne Hine 1992 Vintage Cognac is, as the name suggests, from the harvest of 1992. Delightfully smooth, it epitomises the reason why the chalky soils of this terroir are referred to as the premier cru. Hine Cognac has become renowned for releasing exceptional vintage cognacs - whenever a harvest is exceptional enough to warrant it - and this one is no exception. A warm spring followed by prolonged dry periods in the summer of 1992 allowed the grape harvest to develop a concentrated, rich flavor. Using traditional distillation on the lees and high humidity cellars by the banks of the River Charente for their maturation process, the House of Hine has shown tremendous care to create a Cognac to impress from start to finish.
The casks which are chosen for vintage bottlings are all selected by Bernard Hine, the sixth-generation company director of Hine Cognac. While most producers choose to blend their casks into generic age expressions like VS or VSOP, Bernard still keeps the tradition of vintage Cognac close to his heart, showing the versatility and unique character of Grande Champagne year after year.
Presentation of the Bottle
Presented in the way we've come to expect from Hine, the Hine 1992 Vintage comes in a traditional, slim bottle with a classic, no-nonsense label. This bottling needs no bells and whistles - all the talking is done by the delightful Cognac contained within. Perfect for the connoisseur, or as a wonderful gift for anyone who enjoys quality liquor.
How to Enjoy Hine Vintage 1992 Cognac
We suggest enjoying this vintage Cognac neat in a tulip glass, ideally allowing it to rest for 30 seconds to develop fully. A dash of water may be added to allow the softer aromas to open up.
About Hine Cognac
Located in the heart of the Grande Champagne, the premium wine growing area of the Cognac region, the house of Hine has been producing some of the most exquisite Cognacs for six generations, when it was better known as T Hine & Co Cognac. The estate boasts an exceptional 173 acres of vineyards, and the house has a very special tradition of producing relatively small quantities - but with a very high standard in quality. One of their trademarks is to store their vintage casks in damp cellars in Bristol, England. This way, the Thomas Hine Cognac goes through a uniquely different ageing process due to the humidity of the seaside town, which differs somewhat to that of the southwestern coast of France. These highly priced vintage bottles are called “Hine Early-Landed Vintage Cognac”.
