Deau Vintage 1997 Bons Bois Cognac: Autumnal Elegance

Crafted from the fruits of a single vineyard, the Deau Vintage 1997 Bons Bois Cognac is a delicate and soft expression of this wonderful, but underrated, cru. The Bons Bois terroir is characterized by its maritime climate and clay soils, producing distinguished fruity aromas, remaining true to the grape varieties used in its production. Showing aromatic spice notes and lingering sweetness, this is a bottle that has incredible wide-ranging appeal.

Like all vintage Cognacs, this is made with eaux-de-vie from a single year. In order for the BNIC (National Interprofessional Cognac Bureau) to authorize a vintage, each barrel must be sealed and documented and the opening and closing of the barrels can only be done in the presence of a sworn representative. As a result, all Deau Vintage Cognacs are bottled straight from the barrel, with nothing added or taken away. Of course, these treasures are all limited editions.

As the House of Deau Cognac owns and operates its own vineyard, the family can control the quality of its products from grape selection to vinification. Currently in the hands of the fourth generation, the company oversees the entire production process, from vine to bottle. Their rare and prestigious vintage Cognacs are aged for years - or generations - in Limousin oak barrels carefully chosen for their fine grain. These casks are allowed to rest in cellars near the Charente River, nourished by humid air that ensures a slow aging process, creating Cognacs with roundness and finesse.

Presentation of the Bottle

With such astounding attention to detail, you can’t help but fall in the love with the bottle. The handmade glass is full of minuscule air bubbles that refract the light and makes the Cognac shimmer, while the deep rad wax and classic label perfectly embody the vintage character of Deau Cognac. A navy blue ribbon around the neck adds just another classic touch. The simple wooden presentation box makes this a perfect gift for anyone with a 1997 anniversary or birthday.

How to Enjoy Deau Vintage 1997 Bons Bois Cognac

We recommend you enjoy this fine vintage neat in a tulip glass, sipped slowly to fully capture every delicate aroma.
