Description
Laurichesse Le Chai de Mon Pere Fût 104 Cognac
This Grande Champagne Cognac was distilled in the 1970s by Guy Laurichesse, father of Olivier, who founded the Laurichesse Cognac brand with his wife Léa in 2018. The current range of Laurichesse Cognac seeks to highlight eaux-de-vie distilled by Olivier’s father Guy in the 1970s. Distilled in a 12hl still on the family property of Verrières, Laurichesse Le Chai de Mon Pere Fût 104 Cognac was matured in a French oak cask and has been bottled at a cask strength of 47.4% ABV with any color or additives. Only 392 bottles have been produced, making this an extremely rare Cognac to own.
Bottled as ‘Hommage’, this range is also known as Le Chai de mon Père (‘The Cellar of My Father’). Each barrel of vintage eaux-de-vie has been carefully selected and bottled in its natural condition in order to highlight the skills and quality of Guy's work. It certainly gives a fantastic insight into the individual character of small-scale Cognac production.
Presentation of the Bottle
Tall and elegant with a slim profile and deep punt, this is a well-designed bottle that immediately catches the eye. The label is simple, printed on textured paper with hand-written details, including the cask and bottle number. For sales purposes in different countries, the bottles have been renamed Le Chai de Mon Pere, this has been reflected on the bottles themselves through the addition of a sticker on the label..
How to Enjoy Laurichesse Le Chai de Mon Pere Fût 104 Cognac
This rare Premier Cru expression is best enjoyed neat at room temperature. Pour into a tulip glass and allow the Cognac to rest for a moment before taking a sip; this will allow the most complex aromas to develop for a fuller tasting experience. For an added element of luxury, enjoy alongside dried fruits and mature cheeses after a rich dinner - or even with a cigar.

Tough and tasteful
This is a bottle I have had on the shelf for some time. It is a Grande Champagne around 45 years old bottled at 47.4% This cognac has a dark golden color and need some time in the glass to release all aromas. I find darker notes from raisins, dried fruit, leather and wood, but also from orange. It...
Another great Laurichesse: Chai de Mont Père Fût 104
Dark golden colour with nuances of copper. The nose is complex, the first impression is of wood and warm earth, later opening on oranges, dried fruits., leather and fine wood. On the palate soft and elegant with a lot of spices, wood and also dried exotic fruits, tasty oranges and orange peels. The...
Tasting Laurichesse 104
Wow, this has a sweeter almost more sour nose than the 301. I think I do prefer the nose of the 301, BUT I really prefer the mouth of the 104 over the 301. A little sharper in the mouth, great character. You can sense the 47%+ vol alcohol. Love it.
Laurichesse Le Chai de Mon Pere Fut 104
Nose: A much different personality here. It smells more mature, better behaved, less extroverted yet still very sure of itself, confident. The oranges of Le Chai de Mon Pere Fut 301 have departed and been replaced by sweet earthy tobacco, vanilla, and a general feeling of woodsy earthiness. It smells...
About Laurichesse Cognac
Representing a connection between the past and the present, Laurichesse Cognac is a young brand created in 2018 by Léa and Olivier Laurichesse. The couple met in Segonzac, while Léa was studying viticulture and Olivier was already working on the family vineyard. Together, they decided to create a brand under which they could begin to release Cognacs created by Olivier’s father in the 1970s. This selection of small-scale, single-cask Premier Cru Cognacs shows a glimpse into the past; we’re keeping our eye on the future as well, considering Léa and Olivier are also the owners of a vineyard and distillery in the Grande Champagne region.
