Description
Grosperrin N°61 Fins Bois Cognac
The Grosperrin N°61 Fins Bois Cognac is an exceptionally old Cognac sourced from the commune of Réparsac, located in the heart of the Fins Bois region. This rare Cognac was produced by a vintner who also worked as a nurseryman, diversifying his activities in the world of viticulture. This was the last batch he owned, preserved for years as a link to his past and to maintain his connection with the Cognac trade. Bottled in January 2021, only 219 bottles were made, making it an extremely limited edition release.
On the nose, the Grosperrin N°61 immediately reveals its humid cellar aging, with distinctive mushroom aromas complemented by dried flowers and blackcurrant buds. Despite its earthy profile, the Cognac presents a remarkable level of refinement, with a nose that captivates and keeps evolving. On the palate, this Fins Bois Cognac is smooth and rich, with a continuation of the blackcurrant notes, along with subtle hints of wet dog. The finish is both vegetal and smoky, offering a complex and memorable conclusion to the tasting experience.
With an ABV of 43.8%, this Cognac is bottled at cask strength, ensuring that none of its bold and rare characteristics are lost during production.
Presentation of the bottle
The Grosperrin N°61 Fins Bois Cognac is presented in a classic, understated bottle that reflects its long history and unique character. Its simple design allows the focus to remain on the exceptional Cognac within, offering collectors and enthusiasts a glimpse into its storied past.
How to drink
This rare Fins Bois Cognac is best enjoyed neat to fully appreciate its depth and complexity. For those who prefer a slight chill, adding a single drop of water can open up additional layers of flavor, enhancing the vegetal and smoky notes without diluting the overall experience.

Super Fins Bois
This is a super fins bois. I tasted it first time long before it became a product. I got a sample from Guilhem, and when I took the time to really taste I fell in love. I have bought two bottles of this. It is not often you find Fins Bois of this quality. This cognac comes at cask strength, it has...
About Grosperrin Cognac
The independent Cognac house of Grosperrin is a relatively new one in the region, having only been established in 1999 by its founder, Jean Grosperrin. Grosperrin is based in Saintes which sits between the terroirs of Fins Bois and Borderies and it is today run by Jean’s son, Guilhelm, who took over in 2004 at just 23 years old.
Guilhelm’s mission is to discover producers all across the region in order to create truly unique Cognacs from the six crus. This vision was made possible by the fantastic relationships Jean Grosperrin built with producers, and that Guilhelm has since built on and expanded. Today, Grosperrin works with over 150 Cognac producers, from which Guilhelm will meticulously select barrels to craft into exquisite end bottles.
