Eye: Acacia honey.

Nose: A nose of spicy, mellow fragrances marked by vanilla and prominent florals.

Palate: The roundness and mellowness on the palate perfectly match the powerfulness of the eaux-de-vie. Delicate, gourmand and harmonious.

Description

Sève by Gautier Liqueur Cognac: Powerful and Harmonious

The award-winning Sève by Gautier Liqueur has been crafted from a blend of eaux-de-vie sourced from the Fine Champagne region of Cognac. These have been combined with a delightful range of natural plant extracts to provide the drinker with a powerful liqueur that balances fresh floral aromas with harmonious tones of vanilla. After the liqueur is blended, it is left to further mature in oak casks to allow its character to develop and integrate fully.

Based on the Osme river in the town of Aigre, Gautier Cognac is amongst the oldest Cognac houses. Their casks lay resting in an 18th-century watermill, providing a humid microclimate that creates a pronounced flavor. The Gautier family are passionate about the skill of aging; their relationship with the importance of wood goes back to their 17th-century ancestors who were forest owners near Tronçais. In 1644, Charles Gautier married Jacquette Brochet, a winemaker's daughter, bringing together the skills and expertise of two families to create Gautier Cognac.

Maison Gautier unites the history of Cognac production with a modern view of the market of today, catering to both professional connoisseurs as well as new Cognac enthusiasts who like to experiment. While the people working at this ancient Cognac house may stick to tradition, they also know how to look to the future.

Aigre is also referred to as the "Little Venice" of Charente. The proximity to the water and the resulting humidity and temperature in the cellars gives the cognac a recognizable taste. Maison Gautier unites ancient history with a modern view of the Cognac market. Cognac Gautier caters to both professional Cognac connoisseurs and aficionados as well as younger consumers that like to experiment with Cognac and try out new and trendy cocktails.
