Description
Into the Unknown: La Belle Inconnue Cognac by Jean-Luc Pasquet
A love story born from a 20-year-old recipe created by Jean-Luc Pasquet himself, Pasquet La Belle Inconnue is an exciting, new way to drink Cognac. A unique, sparkling blend of grapes and Cognac creates the perfect aperitif to drink alone, or in a cocktail! The story of La Belle Inconnue is as beautiful as its name suggests. Initially conceived during a time of low sales in Cognac, Jean-Luc designed the recipe as a means to diversify.
More than 20 years later, his son Jean has reintroduced this product to market as a celebration of his fairy tale-like relationship with American-born Amy. After meeting at a wine tasting at an Argentinian vineyard, they fell deeply in love, La Belle Inconnue is the product of their passion.
The Cognac is produced during the harvest itself, designed as a pre-dinner drink, it blends freshly squeezed, organic grape juice with 1-year-old eaux-de-vie before adding CO2 and being pasteurized, the end product is a delightfully sparkling Cognac drink perfect for those cool summer evenings spent with friends. Looks can be deceiving when it comes to the Cognac’s light amber color, but once opened the instant aroma of grapes is immediately recognized, hints of quince are present on the palate and of course, that distinctive Cognac flavor dominates throughout.
This sparkling Cognac will surely be a talking point at any social occasion, an ideal drink for any celebration, whether big or small!
Serving Suggestions
This sparkling product can be enjoyed on its own or blended with a stronger spirit such as gin or vodka, to produce a light and refreshing aperitif or a delightful digestif served with the dessert course of your meal.
La Belle Inconnue can also be mixed into a cocktail.
It has had particular success in countries such as Sweden, Holland (where it is often mixed with Bobby’s dry gin as a pre-dinner tipple), Russia (of course, mixed with vodka) and has recently been introduced to the Chinese market. La Belle Inconnue is also a pleasant way to finish a meal, perhaps with a humble apple pie or a classic tarte tatin.
Presentation of the Bottle
This champagne-shaped bottle and its packaging are modern, elegant and mysterious, just like the unique, organic Cognac within. Its label has been designed with romance in mind, with silhouettes reminiscent of artists’ drawings on the Place du Tertre in Montmartre, Paris.
It also features quotes from Jean Pasquet and his partner Amy, who poured their heart and soul into this novel and innovative drink, a product of their love for one another.

Nice alternative for your sweet tooth
Before tasting La Belle Inconnue, I did not even know that something like this existed and so I was quite curious. The nose is dominated by ripe grapes, quince and also hints of cognac. The palate is also dominated by sweet grapes and is slightly bubbling. The finish is of medium length ending rather...
About Pasquet Cognac
Certified organic Cognac house Pasquet perfectly strikes the balance between the warmth of family tradition and innovative savoir-faire. In order to revive a plot of vines during the 1990s, the Pasquet family reached deep into their ancestral history to rediscover its organic farming methods. It was here that they found a beautiful equilibrium not only in the ecosystem of their vines, but also in the Cognacs themselves. Since being awarded ‘Agriculture Biologique’ status in 1998, they haven’t looked back, continuing to craft small-batch Cognacs that epitomize natural beauty and balance. With versatile ranges such as ‘L’Organic’ and ‘Esprit de la Famille,’ the Pasquet family ensures that every step of production respects the environment, resulting in a very special collection of Cognacs.
