Description

The Leopold Gourmel Brut de Fleurs is a spectacular Fins Bois Cognac containing blends of eaux-de-vie of more than 15 years old. Offering a melange of beautifully rich flavours that swim across the palette with nutty depth, spicy notes and a prevailing floral complexity. It is the continuity of intense vanilla notes that take this blend of eaux-de-vie to another dimension - a must try for anyone who loves the contrast of both sweet and spicy flavourings. This Brut de Fleurs eaux-de-vie from the house of Leopold Gourmel is a true emblem of the Fins Bois region as the hilly terroir provides eastern exposure to the vineyard, and therefore permits perfectly, ripened grapes which make the wine stronger, richer and more aromatic too.

Leopold Gourmel is a Cognac house that began in 1972 when founder Pierre Voisin first began curating Cognac, and as an ode to his grandfather, the brand was subsequently named Leopold Gourmel. Over the years, Leopold Gourmel has come on leaps and bounds and continues the tradition of excellence established by both Olivier Blanc and Nicolas Sinoquet who have strived to produce the very best quality, naturally produced Cognac that the region has to offer.

Presentation of the bottle

Presented in a beautiful decanter and presentation box - this Cognac should not languish in the back of a drink's cabinet, as it deserves centre stage for its elegant bottle shape and branded box. The front of the bottle boasts the branded logo of a wild horse which embodies the brand's values of remaining protective to the land and surrounding nature in order to produce completely natural, sustainable products that can be enjoyed damage free.

How to enjoy

This Cognac should be served neat (or with a splash of water) alongside red meat dishes as its warm and rich palette compliments a hearty and indulgent meal delectably. Brut de Fleurs can also be enjoyed as a delicious digestive at the end of a dinner amongst guests.

About Leopold Gourmel Cognac

This cognac house has always relied on natural processes. From growing the grapes to picking, maturing, distilling, aging and bottling them, Gourmel cognac is free of any chemicals, pesticides or additives to enhance color in respect of nature and the final product. The philosophy of the company is to concentrate on quality not quantity, which means that one year the outcome may be higher than in others. This is further shown by the radical decision to produce only pure vintage cognacs, so there is no blending of different years in order to create VS, VSOP or XO cognacs for instance. To go with this authentic approach, the design of Gourmel is simple and modern.
