Extra Old Cask Finish Cognac
The ABK 6 XO Cask Finish is the finished product of master craft and expertise from this innovative Cognac house. From the moment the grapes are cultivated, to the moment that it reaches the bottle, this Cognac has been carefully monitored by a selection of fine producers. The Cellar Master was asked to select a series of eaux-de-vie that best embodies the spirit of this Cognac house and its estate; the result is one that is intense, aromatic and fruity. Falling into the Extra Old age category, it is aged in oak casks, and comes from one Single Estate Vineyard. The XO Cask Finish was limited to only 12 precious barrels, with each cask being sealed by a ministerial officer issuing a report on the Domaine Francis Abecassis. The XO Cognac from this maison are of cask strength, having been carefully aged under the expert nose of the Cellar Master.
This branch of the Domaines Francis Abecassis has a Paradise cellar with a truly precious and indulgent collection of eaux-de-vie. ABK 6 Cognac work hard to respect the tradition and quality that is needed to produce exceptional Cognac, and yet they fully satisfy all requirements of a contemporary audience. Visit our blog and learn more about ABK 6 Cognac from the Kiwi Master Blender himself, Simon Palmer.
The presentation of this bottle alone is enough to breathe some fresh air into the world of stuffy Cognac conservatism. With its square and oblong shoulders, on the outside the ABK 6 XO Cask Finish Rare Cognac is a truly contemporary addition to your drinks cabinet. On the inside, its quality demonstrates years of finely tuned Cognac production.
An XO Cognac of this quality should be enjoyed neat, or over ice to bring out its most indulgent and aromatic of eaux-de-vie.
About ABK6 Cognac
Owned by Francis Abécassis (a homonym of ABK6 when pronounced in French), ABK6 Cognac is a relatively young brand based in the Domaine de Chez Maillard near the village of Claix. The brand is known for its choice to produce single estate Cognacs, with its eaux-de-vie being carefully selected from their 220 hectares of land, specifically for their aromatic intensity and indulgence. The label has shaken up the industry by introducing a young and modern spirit to a traditional drink, without compromising on quality. The company is now one of the largest independent producers in Cognac, and also owns the brands Leyrat, Reviseur and Grands Domaines. Attention to detail is applied to every single aspect of production at ABK6, with sustainable growing methods, Charentaise distillation and precise blending. It’s no wonder the group has taken home over 60 awards in recent years.
