Merlet VS Cognac: Vibrant Youth
The Merlet VS Cognac is a great example of a blend of this quality. It comprises eaux-de-vie from various different terroirs of the region, something done specifically to ensure a consistent quality. The majority of the blend has been sourced from the Fins Bois growth region, with the rest from Bons Bois as well as Petite Champagne. Aged for a minimum of two years, this is a youthful but well-balanced blend that is sure to charm connoisseurs as well as anyone new to the world of Cognac.
Maison Merlet has been producing Cognac since 1850 and was founded by Gilles' grandfather Firmit Merlet. Located in the village of Saint Sauvant, the estate has been achieving recognition from connoisseurs since its humble beginnings, with Monsieur Merlet even managing to earn the gold medal for his Cognac at the World Exhibition in 1900.
With their estate spreading across the Fins Bois and Borderies terroirs, the family work with a range of winegrowers to source and distil eaux-de-vie from crus all over the region, using the family's ancestral expertise to create award-winning and exciting Cognacs.

About Merlet Cognac
With a traceable history dating back to 1850, the Merlet family have continued to produce cognac, alongside a continually growing range of other products, to the current day. Headed today by Gilles Merlet, his sons Pierre and Luc joined the business a few years back, bringing with them a new generation of enthusiasm and direction. Although the house Distillerie Merlet & Fils originally produced eaux-de-vie for some of the most prestigious cognac houses in the world of cognac, they are now famous in their own right, not only for their quality cognacs, but for their innovative range of other products that sell around the globe.
