Merlet Liqueur C2 Citron au Cognac
The Merlet Liqueur C2 Citron is a liqueur created with infusions of lemon and lime, along with 70% Cognac and natural sugar added at the end of the process for a satisfying, yet not-overpowering sweetness. This wonderful combination of Cognac and citrus fruits is bursting with aromas of lemon, and then when you take a sip, experience a harmonious union of floral lime flavors with the luxury of Cognac.
Maison Merlet has been producing Cognac since 1850 and was founded by Gilles' grandfather Firmit Merlet. Located in the village of Saint Sauvant, the estate has been achieving recognition from connoisseurs since its humble beginnings, with Monsieur Merlet even managing to earn the gold medal for his Cognac at the World Exhibition in 1900.
With their estate spread across the Fins Bois and Borderies terroirs, the family have worked with many winegrowers to source and distil eaux-de-vie from crus all over the region, using the family's ancestral expertise to create a number of award-winning and exciting Cognacs.
Presentation of the Bottle
Bold and elegant, the bottle certainly stands out among its contemporaries. The glass is embossed with the Merlet emblem and decorated with a simple but well-designed yellow label, beautifully complementing the liquid contained within.
How to Enjoy Merlet Liqueur C2 Citron au Cognac
Enjoy on the rocks as a digestif, or combined with a mixer for the perfect aperitif - we think it works particularly well with tonic water. It's also a superb way to add a citrus element to any cocktail.
About Merlet Cognac
With a traceable history dating back to 1850, the Merlet family have continued to produce cognac, alongside a continually growing range of other products, to the current day. Headed today by Gilles Merlet, his sons Pierre and Luc joined the business a few years back, bringing with them a new generation of enthusiasm and direction. Although the house Distillerie Merlet & Fils originally produced eaux-de-vie for some of the most prestigious cognac houses in the world of cognac, they are now famous in their own right, not only for their quality cognacs, but for their innovative range of other products that sell around the globe.
