Description
Voyer Ancestrale No 8
The Francois Voyer Ancestrale No 8 is a bonafide Grande Champagne blend that hails from the Premier Cru of the Cognac region. It contains some of the most inestimable eaux-de-vie from the Voyer ‘Paradise’ cellar; some of which have been matured between 50 and 80 years. For that reason, this Ancestrale Cognac is extremely limited in quantity, and almost half of the 186 bottles have been booked already.
The precious nectar of this terroir has been carefully handled by the Francois Voyer Cognac blenders with an artesanal flair. First it is distilled with the lees, and then aged in new Limousin oak casks for three years. It is then be continued in older barrels in the damp Voyer cellar, resulting in a progressive reduction. Nothing is rushed and utmost care is taken by the Cognac producers, from the harvesting of the grapes, to the moment it is bottled. The hilly and chalky terrain makes for an exceptionally rare blend, and the Francois Voyer methodology is award-winning.
How to enjoy Francois Voyer Ancestrale
Savor every note and aroma that arises from this Cognac; it is certainly not one to be hurried considering the time that has gone into producing it! Pour it into a glass, neat, and let it stand for 15 minutes before tasting it. Take your first sip slowly; it is important to let the bouquet unfold on your palate. You will be able to taste its age in the flavors derived from the oak barrel.
The Francois Voyer Ancestrale No 8 arrives in a particularly traditional, slim bottle which denotes its age and maturity. It has a golden seal and crest upon it, and arrives in a prestige wooden gift box.
The Ancestrale No 8 is the next in the collection of Ancestrale Cognacs, following the award-winning Ancestrale No.7 that was released in a limited run of 196 bottles.
