Description
The Lassalle Baqué 1992 Brut de Fut Armagnac boasts an exceptional history of distinction. After the distillation of the 1992 batch, only five barrels of spirit remained. However, due to the angels' share, just four barrels made it to present day to eventually see the light of day. During tasting sessions in the chai, Remi consistently identified one barrel, barrel N°10, which distinctly shone for its unparalleled aromatic and flavor notes, crowning it as his best barrel from the 1992 vintage. While the three other futs were blended and reduced to produce the Lassalle Baqué 1992 Armagnac at 43% abv, barrel N°10 was preserved in its natural unreduced state, brut de fut, standing at 46.7% abv. No reduction and no additives whatsoever as with all Lassalle Baqué Armagnacs.
Both the 1992 and 1992 Brut de Fut Armagnac share the same genetic makeup, but the Brut de Fut variant brings an amped-up intensity across the board. It envelopes the palate with ripe fruit undertones, a pleasant gourmandise, and a rich depth. As the spirit saw no new oak, the Armagnac remains very much fruit-forward in profile.
Tasting the two side-by-side offers not just an enriching experience, but also shines a spotlight on why cask strength Armagnac deserves consideration.

For a 31 old Armagnac this has a very good balance between oak/spice and fruitiness. With more time in the glass, more fresh notes come out of the glass. More fruity...
Lassalle Baqué 1992 Brut de Fût Armagnac - an amazing step-up from the regular 1992
Amber with golden reflexes. A rich and opulent nose on spices, wood and sweet dried fruits (figs, apricots, dates). Tasted H2H with the regular 1992 a nice step-up of intensity and complexity. Also on the palate the Brut de Fût shows more intensity and sweetness compared to the regular 1992 and...
