Armagnac Jean Cavé 1986
Description
A Red Velvet Vintage from Jean Cavé
Jean Cavé’s vintage Armagnac from 1986 is impact in a bottle. From its appearance to its taste, Armagnac aficionados will be satisfied by its surprising sensations and outstanding complexity. From the best terroir of the historical Gascon area and distilled in traditional oaks barrels, Armagnac 1986 lives up to the rigor and passion required to reach excellence.
It’s all in the family for proud Armagnac house Jean Cavé, whose history of distillery and production dates back over 130 years. It was in 1883 that Jean Cavé expanded his horizons from being a local winegrower in Lannepax to establishing an Armagnac business with his wife and children. Today, Jean Cavé is led by Henri Cavé - a fourth generation family member continuing the living history of the craftsmanship that Jean started.
Armagnac 1986 delights with woody aromas interlaced with notes of vanilla and cocoa. At once sweet and spicy, it finishes with a highly complex rancio finale. On the palate, this vintage eau-de-vie is fresh and round, with highly present, rich tannins that nonetheless maintain a sense of delicacy. A multifaceted finish includes notes of toasted wood and an unforgettable intensity.
This boisterous brandy is presented in a show-stopping Carafe bottle, a refreshing change of scenery from typical Armagnac bottles. The Carafe is wide and sturdy with a thick neck - the perfect stage for the eau-de-vie’s bright, clear red color with amber reflections.
Jean Cavé is a decorated house, with a strong awards record. In 2016, it took home three prizes at the World Armagnac Awards.
Fitting for the time of its harvest, Armagnac 1986 is nothing short of a blockbuster brandy, both in look and taste.
