Hennessy XO comes in a 70 cl bottle and is at 40 % ABV. This cognac is a blendof quite some crus: Grande Champagne, Petite Champagne, Borderies and Fin Bois. This bottle is a flagship of the Grande Maison de Hennessy - and its decanter was designed in 1947.

It's a powerful and rather woody blend, with spicy aromas, complex but remains round. This rich cognac brings oak and leather together with slightly sweet notes of flower and fruit. A well balanced work, with a good sense of pepper and rancio. More a masculine XO.
I tasted this classic in a blind tasting. The nose: strong, on the palate: stronger but also a bit flat compared to other XOs.. a nice peak during the finish. Of course a great cognac, a great decanter (one of the best) - but, it's really sort of sweet and complex without a huge burn in the end. If you like less mainstream cognacs, don't go for this one.
An interesting Cognac. Quite sour on the nose, and then fairly explodes on first taste - mellowing after the first hit. Aftertaste is long, becoming rounder and more mellow as it evolves.
Now Hennessy XO is a total classic. It's the first XO ever, they invented the whole category of Extra Old cognac. The nose is quite intense and rich, the mouth I really like.. and it's slightly smoother on the palate than the Remy XO i'd say. If you like very round, rich, complex, sweet Cognacs with a smooth finish - in a beautiful decanter, this is your Cognac!
I tasted this Cognac review in a blind tasting, compared to other XOs.
