Cognac Mestreau XO n°08 Borderies

The Cognac Mestreau XO n°08 Borderies is a vintage blend of Borderies eaux-de-vie that will set your senses alight upon tasting the very first sip. Produced with eaux-de-vie that have been aged for 8-25 years, this is a Cognac that will be particularly enjoyed by those who appreciate a very well-matured spirit. Boasting candied and fruity notes of citrus, orange and chocolate, it suits Cognac connoisseurs with a sweet tooth. This silky and smooth finish of this Borderies XO leaves tasters with a crave for more comparably indulgent experiences.

The house of Mestreau is a brand that was resurrected by Guilhem Grosperrin, from the family of Cognac brokers leading the house of Grosperrin. Mestreau is a smaller brand now owned by Grosperrin; whose team works with more than 150 local Cognac businesses spread across all six of the Cognac growing areas. In total Grosperrin has contact with almost 4,300 farms which make up the rich and diverse grapes of the Cognac region. With years of buying and selling expertise under their belt, the house of Grosperrin are able to source the finest eaux-de-vie the region has to offer. This is done all in the hope of achieving their ultimate ambition of achieving the most perfect expression of the terroir.

Presentation of the bottle

Arriving in an elegant decanter with an accompanying bespoke box, Mestreau has once again pulled out all the stops with the presentation of this Cognac. Plugged with a classy wooden bottle stopper, it is the finishing touches that make all the difference. Authenticity and quality are at the forefront of the house of Mestreau and the bottle presents such values too. Details of the bottle number prove that remarkable Cognac is limited and often it is the rare finds that will deservingly rest in your memory. Plugged with a classy wooden bottle stopper and golden typography - it is the finishing touches that have made all the difference with the design of this spectacular bottle.

How to enjoy

An extra old blend of eaux-de-vie like the Cognac Mestreau n°08 Borderies XOshould be enjoyed in the right atmosphere. We recommend drinking a mature Cognac like this one, neat at room temperature. Gently pour the Cognac into a snifter glass and let the aromas open up before tasting. To alter the experience slightly, add a dash of ice and appreciate how this unique patchwork of flavors evolve and develop. The complex aromas of this XO also pair perfectly with an indulgent cigar.

About Mestreau Cognac

Founded in 1808, Frédéric Mestreau is an important brand in the world of Cognac. It, unfortunately, as many do, fell by the wayside in 1919 and has since remained dormant. All that has changed in recent years, thanks to a recent purchase of Cognac Mestreau made by Guilhem Grosperrin, a man who is well versed in buying older, rare bottles from the most remote of corners in the region, and reselling them to Cognac lovers everywhere.
