Description
A de Fussigny Fine Champagne XO: Straight from the Heart of Cognac
The A de Fussigny XO Cognac is a Fine Champagne blend, meaning that it contains a minimum of 50% Grande Champagne eaux-de-vie, with the rest coming from Petite Champagne. It’s a well-deserving multi-award winner, with a taste as contemporary and delicious as the bottle in which it’s presented. This is a wonderful choice to add to any liquor collection. The blend of Champagne terroirs, along with the maturation process of at least ten years being carried out in the humid cellars of A de Fussigny’s location by the River Charente, has created a wonderfully aromatic and elegant Cognac.
The Grande and Petite Champagne growing areas, famous for their calcareous soil, undulating hills and sheltered climate, are known for creating eaux-de-vie with a superb balance of floral, fruity and spicy notes. There’s a reason why this place is so renowned for the quality of their grapes; the deep chalky soil here allows for consistent growing conditions and steady maturation of grapes even during the hottest summers.
Located on the banks of the Charente river, the A de Fussigny estate's distillery and cellars date back to 1814, rich in a history of gabarres passing by on barges, transporting and trading the precious eaux-de-vie and wine that have made this region so famous. Thanks to the wonderful location on the river, the large wooden doors of the house opened out onto the miraculous transport system that was offered by the innocuous waters of this mighty waterway. The 200-year-old cellars here facilitate a slow maturation process in a stable humid environment facilitated by the microclimate of the Charente, allowing the Cognac to develop all the flavors and quality which represent the hallmarks of this brand.
Combining the best grapes with the best conditions for aging? The result can only be outstanding.

About A de Fussigny Cognac
