Description
Hennessy VSOP Privilege Collection 8 Limited Edition Cognac
Produced using 100% Ugni Blanc grapes, the Hennessy VSOP Privilege Collection 8 Limited Edition Cognac represents a perfect harmony between quality eaux-de-vie and French oak. A traditional, careful aging process in handcrafted barrels allow each of the 60 eaux-de-vie to express themselves in this blend, coming to full fruition during the maturation process. The very name VSOP, which has become a benchmark in age categories for all Cognac makers, began when the Prince of Wales, King George IV of Great Britain personally requested a cask of ‘old pale’ from Hennessy in 1817. This VSOP is still the original, unparalleled and one of the most famous Cognacs across the world.
The House of Hennessy specializes in distilling their eaux-de-vie without the lees for a smooth, clean palate and utilizing humid cellars for a steady maturation. As the largest Cognac Maison worldwide, we can trust that Hennessy knows exactly how to make each eau-de-vie work in tandem with one another to create the ultimate sensory experience. This VSOP is typical of its kind, with pleasant aromas, a delicate balance and a long-lasting finish. On the nose, soft notes of vanilla, clove and cinnamon are immediately evident, followed by a secondary scent of toasted notes. When sipping this classic Cognac, strength and smoothness converge in a beautifully orchestrated blend of flavors, followed by a softer note of freshly pressed grapes before a lengthy finish. Simply sublime.
Presentation of the Bottle
This Hennessy VSOP Privilege Limited Edition Cognac continues the delightful theme of Hennessy’s skill of launching eye-catching bottles. The bottle has been designed by world-renowned designer and computer scientist John Maeda and features a metallic deep bronze color decorated with a panel to the front that has contrasting red, yellow, and blue shades in a graphic pattern.
Serving Suggestion
The complex tasting notes of this Cognac are best showcased in a tulip glass. After pouring, allow the liquor to breathe for 30 seconds to fully concentrate the delicate aromas before you take a sip. An excellent digestif or accompaniment to a cheeseboard.
About Hennessy Cognac
You may think, that with Hennessy’s ability to innovate and push boundaries, they are a thoroughly ‘modern’ Cognac brand. This is a large part of their immense success and influence. The very French brand based in the Charente region, in fact, dates all the way back to 1765 - to Ireland - but have managed to shapeshift enough times to remain more relevant than ever before - with current Master Blender Renaud Fillioux. Their range of uber-trendy products is ever expanding, and their marketing campaigns all the more captivating. There is no doubt that ‘Henny’ culture is alive and kicking: both Cognac and a fifth of Hennessy are mentioned in what seems like hundreds of songs.
