Bache Gabrielsen VS 3 Kors Fine Cognac

Bache Gabrielsen Cognac

3 Kors from Bache Gabrielsen is a young VS Cognac. The blend consists of 25% Grande Champagne and Petite Champagne, such as around 75% Fins Bois eaux-de-vie. It is aged in casks for about 4 years. This Cognac has been around on the market for over 100 years, the very first bottle was sold by the trader for only NOK3. During the prohibition in Norway, the Cognac was only available in pharmacies, as a prescription medicine. But only for patients with Spanish flu.

Tasting Notes

The colour is deep amber. The taste is young, fruity, a round punch - sligthly balanced by the Grande Champagne character. The finish is rather smooth for a VS, and again fruity.

Bache-Gabrielsen is a medium-sized family-run cognac house with an international history. The cognac house is looking forward to its upcoming 100th anniversary, with the creation of the company in 1905. With its clean design, Bache-Gabrielsen takes an important position in the cognac market, exporting mainly to Scandinavian countries. Hervé Bache-Gabrielsen, the fourth generation head of the company, is well aware that the cognac industry is undergoing changes, with the international market being heavily developed and marketing strategies refined to cater a younger, trendier consumer-base. Considering the size of the business in comparison to the big cognac houses, it is surprising to find out that it holds the market leadership in cognac sales in Norway!

I am looking for a cigar to match with this cognac. Does anyone know of one or has anyone matched one? Cheers

So I (Max) rocked up and literally ‘jumped right in…’ There are loads of producers at such an event. It’s an interesting place to Read full article...
