Description
A de Fussigny Sélection Cognac: Smooth, Subtle and Elegant
In a creative and complex blend of eaux-de-vie from several terroirs, the A de Fussigny Sélection Cognac finds a bold balance between fruity and floral flavors, with warming notes of spices and sweet vanilla that perfume both palate and nose. Part of the estate's Création series, this VS Cognac comprises a blend of eaux-de-vie from the Grand Champagne, Petite Champagne, Borderies and Fins Bois appellations, matured between two and ten years in Limousin and Tronçais oak barrels. The Sélection Cognac is described as "subtle and elegant", and has proved popular amongst Cognac connoisseurs who are fans of Fussigny’s work.
Located on the banks of the Charente river, this estate's distillery and cellars date back to 1814, rich in a history of barges passing by to transport and trade the precious eaux-de-vie and wine that render this region famous. Their more than 200-year-old cellars allow the aging process to take place in a humid environment, offering a unique and high quality to every Cognac that A De Fussigny produce.
This entry-level expression by A de Fussigny shines a spotlight on the craftsmanship of their cellar masters, using traditional distillation and ancestral expertise to combine qualities from each individual cru. The Sélection Cognac subtly showcases the floral elements of the Fine Champagne terroirs, while simultaneously revealing the fruity notes of Fins Bois and Borderies, bringing together these crus to produce a VS that celebrates Cognac as an entire region.

A de Fussigny Selection is an OK, entry-level, VS cognac
A de Fussigny Selection is an OK, entry-level, VS cognac. Selection falls between VS and VSOP, though, it's closer to VSOP than to VS. Aromas include vanilla, light oak, jasmine, sweet and ripe fruit, plums and a hint of tobacco. More complex than it's sub-VSOP designation suggests. Delicate and elegant....
