Description
A moment in time: Vallein Tercinier 1977 Petite Champagne Cognac
Bottled in 2017 after 40 years aging in French oak barrels, experience the rich and complex characteristics of a Cognac that has been exclusively blended from one region, and one harvest. Vallein Tercinier Petite Champagne 1977 Cognac is a limited edition of 300 bottles and a celebration of both this particular vintage and its Petite Champagne provenance.
Experience the seasons as you journey through 1977: this particular vintage brings bright and spring-like aromas to the nose, such as pine, citrus and young pear. Delicate, summery floral aromas are followed by warmer fall-like tones on the palate, such as honey, blood orange and cloves. The finish seems to marry everything together in a refreshing blend of tang and oak, a mix of fruit and spices that recalls memories of mulled wine on a cold winter’s day.
When Georges Vallein founded this Maison in 1850, he would have no idea that 5 generations would follow in his footsteps, honing their craft to sheer perfection as the years went by. Their blending processes, which allow complete control over the finished product, have set them apart from others and have given them a reputation as producers of some of the finest blends in the industry.
What makes this 40-year-old Cognac even more exceptional is that it has been bottled in its natural state so as not to take anything away from it, this lack of chill filtering delivers more intense flavor.
If you’re looking for proof that Petite Champagne creates the most beautiful blends, look no further. Petite Champagne 1977 from Vallein Tercinier is an enigmatic embodiment of this appellation, proudly shining the spotlight on the high quality of this region’s produce, both visually and in its flavors.
Presentation of the Bottle
A classic and elegant design that comes with a beautifully crafted wooden box for storing or gifting purposes. The bottle’s label reinforces not only the rich history and heritage of the Vallein Tercinier Maison, but also its provenance from one of the most highly reputable regions of Cognac.
Its wax seal is a nod to its 40-year aging process in exclusively French oak barrels, giving it a timeless feel. Both bottle and box are elegant, classic and tasteful - just like the Cognac stored within.
About Vallein Tercinier Cognac
With over 500 years of history, the artisan house of Vallein Tercinier is one that deserves the attention of all Cognac lovers – from those new to eaux-de-vie to the connoisseur. This brother and sister team bring an expertise to craft Cognac that's just aching to be discovered.
Many of their Cognac's have been awarded top class awards in many industry competitions, and this has meant a growing awareness of their products in some quarters. But, as with the aging process of Cognac, such a small craft brand is often lost amongst the noise razzmatazz of the 'big boys'. And that really is a crime, because as many esteemed connoiseurs are finding out, the offerings of Vallein Tercinier are of superb quality, unique, and once you've discovered them, will become a 'must have' brand to always have in your drinks cabinet.
Catherine and Louis are very proud to have stepped into the shoes of their many ancestors. And as is in keeping with family tradition, the've continued to move the company forward, whilst remaining true to the pure art of Cognac production. They've adapted the facilities to take full advantage of modern technology, and continue to produce some very special Cognacs indeed.
