Описание
Paul Giraud Vieille Réserve
Paul Giraud Vieille Réserve is a deliciously sweet and smooth Cognac, produced from a combination of both Ugni Blanc and Folle Blanche grapes grown on the family’s vineyards in the heart of Grande Champagne. A high quality XO Cognac, aged for at least 25 years in traditional Limousin oak barrels, within Giraud’s humid family cellars, it boasts the classic rancio character that is typically found in older eaux-de-vie. What makes this Grande Champagne Cognac unique is the sweetness it has managed to maintain, despite its age. The Giraud estate believes in using only natural methods in its production, meaning there are no caramels or tannins added, yet the spirit still possesses the wonderful honey notes that mellow out the sharp stone fruits and balance the oaky aromas.
The Paul Giraud estate is renowned for its superior terroir eaux-de-vie and its dedication to traditional and organic methods of production. The House hand-picks the grapes, uses classic copper pot stills for distillation and natural farming techniques, so there are no chemicals or pesticides present in their eaux-de-vie, resulting in a pure and authentic flavor. The Giraud family has been growing their grapes since 1650 in the prestigious cru of Grande Champagne, however it was only in the 1980’s that they decided to produce Cognac under their own name after growing tired of seeing their fabulously well-aged eaux-de-vie become part of big brand name blends. This was a bold and uncommon move to make at the time, but it certainly paid off!
Presentation:
A stylish and abstract-shaped decanter with subtly dipped shoulders and a striking gold colour stopper. The decanter features a delicate drawing of the family estate above the brand name, all in gold, sitting beautifully against the warm amber colour of the Cognac.
The decanter comes presented in a traditional wooden box, marked with the brand and terroir name.
How to enjoy:
Take your time to savour this unique and complex Cognac. Enjoy neat in a classic balloon glass and allow to warm slightly in the hand before slowly sipping. This Cognac would also pair well with a chocolate dessert, such as a Black Forest or a fondant.

Gold Medal at the Vignerons Indendant 2016 exhibit
О Paul Giraud
The location of Cognac Giraud is in the prime "1er Cru" cognac growing area of the Grande Champagne, which allows Giraud to produce an exquisite cognac range, from a 6-year old to a 50-year old cognac. The estate is based in Bouteville, and with some additional vineyards in St. Même-les-Carrières, the growing area comes to 35 hectares. The cognac house combines a strong belief in traditional methods with a modern take on cognac production, avoiding any kinds of chemicals or pesticides in their agriculture and coloring additives in the final blends. The work on the plants as well as the actual harvest of the grapes is still done manually, assuring the best possible treatment of the grapes in order to generate the highest quality for the eau-de-vie. Also, Giraud only produces pure vintage cognacs, which means that they never blend eaux-de-vie from different years, but trust in the fine differences between the annual vintages.
